Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh witnessed a tragic accident on Thursday when a tractor-trolley carrying devotees plunged into a deep gorge at the notorious “Khooni Mor” near Dhaliara. The mishap claimed three lives on the spot, while several others sustained serious injuries.
According to eyewitnesses, the tractor-trolley was ferrying a group of pilgrims when the driver lost control at the sharp bend. The vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the gorge, leading to chaos and panic among the passengers. Local residents rushed to the site and immediately began rescue operations, pulling out the injured and alerting authorities.
Police and emergency teams soon arrived, and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care. Officials confirmed that three people had died in the accident, while the condition of some of the injured remains critical.
The “Khooni Mor” stretch has long been infamous for accidents due to its dangerous curve and lack of safety barriers. This incident has once again raised concerns about road safety in the region. Authorities have assured a thorough investigation and promised measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
