Under the Himachal Pradesh Government’s ‘Drug-Free Himachal’ campaign, Nurpur Police achieved four major breakthroughs within 24 hours, recovering large quantities of charas, chitta (heroin), and ₹1 lakh in cash. A total of seven accused have been arrested, and multiple vehicles seized.
Key Operations:
- Kandwal Checkpost: Police intercepted a Creta car (HP-25C-6008) and recovered 1.256 kg charas and ₹1,00,000 cash. Accused Ram Kumar (52), resident of Kumarasain, Shimla, was arrested. Case registered under NDPS Act Sections 20, 25.
- CIA Nurpur: Acting on a tip-off, police raided near Samal village (Indora) and caught Naresh Kumar (37) with 11.87 g chitta. Case filed under Section 21 NDPS Act.
- Indora Police Station: During a blockade near Changraḍa, police recovered 10 g chitta from an Alto car (HP-38G-3964). Accused Kamaldeep alias Timmy (39) and Jitendra Singh (32) were arrested. Kamaldeep is linked to interstate drug supply networks.
- Fatehpur Police Station: At 52 Gate (toll barrier), police seized 6.34 g chitta from three bike riders—Happy, Nitish Chaudhary, and Neeraj Kumar alias Cobra. Case registered under Sections 21, 29 NDPS Act. Neeraj has multiple prior cases and PIT NDPS proceedings against him.

Police are conducting backward and forward linkages inquiries, along with financial investigations to dismantle the wider drug network. Authorities confirmed that strict action against drug traffickers in Nurpur district will continue.
