Gaggal
Despite the ongoing monsoon season and the constant risk of sudden floods, tourists have been seen bathing in the Manjhi Khad near Gaggal, Kangra, putting their lives in danger. Locals warn that the stream is extremely swift and unpredictable, with water levels rising several feet within minutes whenever it rains in the hills.
Residents pointed out that in Dharamshala, rainfall can occur without warning, making the situation even more hazardous. They cautioned that the khad has no visible end, and even a short spell of rain can trigger flash floods, posing a serious threat to anyone nearby.
Local people have appealed to tourists to avoid rivers and streams during the rainy season and to prioritize the safety of themselves and their families. They stressed that precaution is the only way to prevent a major tragedy.
