The first batch of training for the effective execution of Census 2027 Phase I concluded on Monday at Government College Bharmour. The three-day program, which began on June 5, trained 32 supervisors and enumerators for the upcoming house listing exercise.
The sessions were led by Dr. Rajinder Singh (Assistant Professor, History) and Vishal Mahir (Assistant Professor, Economics) as master trainers. Participants were familiarized with all aspects of census operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
The program was inaugurated by Sub-Divisional Officer Bharmour Vikas Sharma, who urged citizens to make use of the self-enumeration facility available from June 1 to June 15 at se.census.gov.in. Phase I of the census — house listing and housing census — will officially run from June 16 to July 15, 2026.
At the closing ceremony, Tehsildar Bharmour Tej Ram Bhardwaj was present, marking the successful completion of the training.
This initiative is expected to strengthen preparations for the nationwide census, ensuring smooth participation and accurate data collection.
