Theme for the 11th International Yoga Day: “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”

To mark the 11th International Yoga Day, the AYUSH Department organized a grand yoga camp at the historic Chaurasi Temple complex in Bharmour. This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” was celebrated with enthusiastic public participation, emphasizing the universal benefits of yoga.
The event was graced by local MLA Dr. Janak Raj and Additional District Magistrate of Bharmour, Kulbir Singh Rana. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp before the image of Lord Dhanvantari, followed by a guided yoga session.
Ayurvedic pharmacists Rajendra, Balwan, and Anil from the AYUSH Department led the yoga demonstrations and engaged the participants in various asanas, highlighting the physical and mental benefits of regular practice.
MLA Dr. Janak Raj, in his address, extended best wishes for International Yoga Day and encouraged everyone to incorporate yoga into their daily routines. “Despite our busy schedules, we must dedicate some time to our bodies to stay healthy and contribute meaningfully to our families, society, and nation,” he said.
ADM Kulbir Singh Rana emphasized that yoga and pranayama are invaluable legacies of India. “They foster not only physical well-being but also mental and spiritual balance, empowering individuals to overcome temptations such as substance abuse,” he stated.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to practice yoga regularly. As part of the Green Yoga campaign, medicinal plants like Ashwagandha, Sugandhwala, and Pashanbhed were planted in the temple premises to promote holistic wellness and environmental sustainability.
The program was attended by dignitaries including Tehsildar Tej Ram, Sub-Divisional AYUSH Medical Officer Dr. Anuradha Sharma, Medical Officers Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, Dr. Aditya Sharma, and Dr. Seema Kumari, Welfare Officer Vikas Pakhretia, Zila Parishad Member Anil Dhakog, and Gram Panchayat Bharmour Pradhan Anil Kumar, along with numerous students and residents.
