A district-wide checking drive was conducted at pharmaceutical retailers and chemist shops across Chamba to prevent the misuse of pharmaceutical medicines. During the operation, officials inspected a total of 41 chemist shops, verifying stock and statutory records to ensure compliance.
Chemists were advised to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act and remain vigilant against any suspicious transactions. Authorities emphasized that such measures are vital to safeguarding public health and curbing the illegal diversion of medicines.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Chamba, Vijay Saklani, who reiterated the department’s commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in pharmaceutical practices.
