Kangra Airport has launched two major initiatives aimed at enhancing passenger facilities, strengthening security, and ensuring a clean travel experience. The ‘Passenger Service Campaign’ will run from September 17 to October 10, while the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva‑2026’ campaign will continue until October 2.
During the Passenger Service Campaign, travelers will be welcomed with Himachali cultural performances and folk dances. The airport premises, drop‑off lanes, and parking areas will undergo intensive cleaning and improvements. Special assistance will be provided to senior citizens, differently‑abled passengers, and those with special needs.
Facilities such as clean drinking water, RO systems, baggage handling, trolley availability, and logistics management will be prioritized. Security checks will be streamlined with better queue management and helpdesk services, ensuring a safe environment for women, children, and families. The campaign will also highlight Himachali culture and the ODOP (One District One Product) initiative.
First‑time flyers and non‑Hindi speaking passengers will receive guidance, while QR codes, Airsewa, and helpdesks will be available for complaints and suggestions.
Under the Swachhta Hi Seva‑2026 drive, emphasis will be placed on waste management and four‑way source segregation. Cleanliness activities will extend to CTUs, GVPs, and public spaces around the airport. A special ‘Swachhta Hi Samman’ program will include health check‑ups and recognition for sanitation workers and their families.
On October 1, the ‘One Day, One Hour, Together’ initiative will see airport staff, security personnel, airlines, and stakeholders participate in collective shramdaan. On October 2, special cleanliness activities, plantation drives, and a review meeting will be held.
Airport Director announced that outstanding employees and stakeholders will be honored at the campaign’s conclusion, and a permanent plan will be prepared to sustain cleanliness and passenger facilities. The administration has appealed to passengers, local citizens, and stakeholders to actively support the campaign.
