In line with its ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy against illegal mining, Police District Nurpur launched a special late-night operation in Kandwal, Indora, and Mand areas. Superintendent of Police Nurpur, along with teams from Indora and Nurpur police stations, personally supervised the raids and took strict legal action against violators of mining regulations.
Details of Action:
- Indora Police Station: Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of Police, 17 heavy multi-axle trucks engaged in illegal activities were seized in Indora and adjoining border areas. Additionally, one tractor was challaned on the spot for violating mining rules.
- Nurpur Police Station: During effective naka checks, two more heavy trucks were impounded by the Nurpur police team.
Legal Proceedings: In total, 19 heavy multi-axle trucks have been impounded and will be sent to court for statutory action under relevant provisions of the Mining Act and Motor Vehicles Act. One tractor was challaned immediately at the site.
Superintendent of Police Nurpur has directed that continuous patrolling and surprise inspections will remain in force to curb illegal extraction of natural resources. The police reaffirmed that their tough stance against illegal mining will persist, with strict legal measures against violators.
