A significant meeting of self-help groups formed under the Van Dhan Yojana was organized at the Mini Secretariat, Bharmaur, under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate Bharmaur, Vikas Sharma. DFO Bharmaur, Navnath Mane, was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, Van Dhan Surveyors Manorama Devi and Sanjay Kumar explained that the Van Dhan Vikas Yojana is a major initiative for the collective empowerment of tribal communities. The scheme seeks to integrate traditional knowledge and skills with modern technology to enhance the income of tribal families.
They highlighted that Van Dhan Vikas Kendras operate in forest-rich tribal areas through community participation. Guided by TRIFED, the scheme provides better economic opportunities to tribal households through primary processing, packaging, and value addition of fruits, spices, medicinal herbs, and minor forest produce.
Detailed discussions were held on the activities being run under the Van Dhan Kendras, and directions were given for smooth execution of related tasks.
Officials and employees of the Forest Department, Dr. Manohar Lal (SMS) from the Horticulture Department, ATMA officers from the Agriculture Department, and other concerned officials were also present.
