Concerned over the possible closure of Haripur College, members of the local trade association and the struggle committee met MLA Dehra Kamlesh Thakur at the Haripur Rest House to present their views on the matter.
Trade Association President Atul Mahajan expressed deep concern for the future of students currently enrolled at the college, many of whom come from ordinary families. He emphasized that the local intellectual community and the trade association had deliberated on the issue before approaching the MLA, seeking an immediate resolution.
According to representatives, MLA Kamlesh Thakur assured the public that degree courses at Haripur College would continue without interruption and that students’ education would not be affected. She also promised to address the main challenge of staff shortages at the institution.
The trade association and local citizens further expressed gratitude to the MLA for granting CBSE status to the Government Senior Secondary School, Haripur.
The meeting was attended by the trade association president, members, and representatives of the struggle committee.
