TNR NEWS NETWORK
Kullu: In a shocking incident from Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, a woman allegedly set her husband’s house on fire after learning about his third marriage. The police have arrested the woman along with three other female relatives for their alleged role in the arson. All four accused have been sent to police remand till December 24.

The incident took place in Dadehi village of Kullu’s Parvati Valley, where a massive fire broke out earlier this month. Initially, the cause of the blaze was unclear and police had launched an investigation. During the probe, however, investigators uncovered that the fire was not accidental but allegedly planned.

The police said the accused woman was married in Dadehi village, but her husband recently entered into a third marriage. Angered by this, she allegedly conspired with three of her relatives and set fire to her husband’s house.

Two houses, deity storehouse destroyed

The fire caused extensive damage in the village, gutting two residential houses and a storehouse belonging to a local deity. In total, four structures were reduced to ashes, leaving two families homeless. One affected family has reportedly taken shelter in a cowshed, while the other has moved to an old house in a nearby village.

The incident is said to have occurred on December 7. According to police estimates, the fire destroyed houses with 12 and 18 rooms, along with a four-storey storage building of the deity Atharah. Property worth over Rs 1 crore was reportedly damaged in the blaze.

Four women arrested, investigation on

Superintendent of Police Madan Lal confirmed the arrest of four women in connection with the case and said further investigation is underway. The incident has sparked widespread discussion in the region, both due to the scale of damage and the circumstances that allegedly led to the crime.

The police said they are examining all aspects of the case and will take further action based on the findings of the investigation.
