Nurpur police cracks down on illegal mining; 11 vehicles challaned

Under a special campaign against illegal mining, Police District Nurpur has taken strict action over the past 24 hours (February 24–25, 2026), issuing challans to 11 vehicles under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act.

Key Actions Taken

  • Jawali Police Station Area:
    • At 32 Mile and Kotla (jointly) – 03 tippers and 01 truck challaned
    • Other locations in Jawali – 02 tractors challaned
  • Damtal Police Station (Dhangoopir Post):
    • 01 tractor challaned
  • Fatehpur Police Station (Riyali Area):
  • 04 tractors challaned for involvement in illegal mining activities

Police District Nurpur emphasized that strict action against individuals involved in illegal mining will continue. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to enforcing the law and warned that violators will face tough measures in the future as well.

Public Appeal

The police have urged the public to immediately report any information related to illegal mining to the nearest police station.
