Dharamshala: The Newz Radar (TNR) recently honoured Baldev Dutt (43), a distinguished police officer heading the CID wing of the Himachal Pradesh Police for the northern range, and his wife Swarnlata Sharma (41), a renowned Sanskrit scholar, for their exceptional contributions to preserving and promoting India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Hailing from Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh, Baldev Dutt has an impressive academic background, holding a master’s degree in Hindi literature, along with qualifications such as UGC-NET, SET, BEd, Sangeet Visharad and Jyotish Praveen.
His diverse interests encompass Indian classical music, astrology, meditation and Sanskrit, reflecting a deep commitment to India’s rich traditions. In his professional capacity, Dutt serves as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the State CID, Northern Range, Dharamshala, where he has been instrumental in maintaining law and order.
Swarnlata Sharma, an accomplished scholar, holds a Master’s degree in Sanskrit, has qualified UGC-NET and SET and also earned a Master’s degree in Hindi and a BEd. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Sanskrit, demonstrating her dedication to advancing knowledge in ancient Indian scriptures.
