An engaging art training programme was organised by Swabhiman Foundation, an NGO, at Rainbow English Senior Secondary School in Bhater, Kangra, for students from classes 6 to 9. The event aimed to impart knowledge on creative skills and raise awareness about critical social issues.
Facilitators Mamta Chaudhary and Renu guided students through various activities, focusing on topics like cybercrime, child labour, drug abuse and scams (online and offline). They also emphasised sustainable practices by teaching the “3Rs” — ‘recycle, reduce, reuse’.
The training included innovative ways to repurpose materials. Students learned to cut plastic bottles into planters, craft toothpaste boxes into pen stands and use chocolate and chips wrappers for decorative purposes. These activities combined creativity with sustainability, inspiring students to contribute to environmental conservation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Chairman ML Kashyap, who expressed gratitude to the facilitators and encouraged students to embrace such training to enhance their skills and creativity.
