Attributes with to MLA RS Bali, ex-CPS Neeraj Bharti
The Indian Youth Congress elections for Kangra district, the largest and most politically significant district of Himachal Pradesh, concluded on Monday with a remarkable turnout of over 30,776 young Congress supporters.
The high voter participation reflected the enthusiasm and engagement of the youth in shaping the future of the party at the grassroots level.
Sunil Kumar (Vikku) emerged as the winner, securing 10,964 votes and defeating his closest competitor by an impressive margin of 2,654 votes for the post of district president. His victory marks a significant milestone in his political journey and reinforces his position as a dynamic young leader within the party.
In a statement, Kumar expressed heartfelt gratitude to Congress MLA from Nagrota and Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Chairman, RS Bali, for his unwavering support and guidance. Bali, the son of the late Congress veteran and influential leader GS Bali, was instrumental in mobilising support for Kumar’s campaign.
Kumar also extended his thanks to former MLA and ex-Chief Parliamentary Secretary Neeraj Bharti from Jawali, acknowledging his crucial role in strategising and ensuring a strong voter turnout in key areas of the district.
“I dedicate this victory to the voters, supporters and mentors who stood by me throughout this journey,” Kumar said. “This win is not just mine but belongs to everyone who believes in the ideals of the Congress. I am committed to working for the welfare of the party and addressing the aspirations of the youth in Kangra district,” he said.
