MANDI: Himachal Pradesh BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut sharpened her political attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during her visit to flood-hit Manali, accusing him of spreading “false stories of vote theft” and attempting to push a “Nepal-style model” in India, something she declared will never succeed.
Kangana Ranaut ridiculed Rahul Gandhi’s repeated claims of “vote theft” in recent elections. “If Rahul Gandhi really believes votes were stolen, he should bring evidence and go to court. Why does he never complain about vote theft in Himachal, Karnataka or Telangana — the states where the Congress is in power? He only cries foul where the Congress loses,” she said.
Calling his statements nothing but theatrics, she said, “His entire day runs like a comedy show. No one takes him seriously. The old saying ‘who saw the peacock dance in the forest’ fits him perfectly.”
Going further, Kangana Ranaut accused Rahul Gandhi of trying to imitate Nepal’s political experiment. “Rahul Gandhi wants to bring a Nepal model to India, but his wish will never be fulfilled. Perhaps he doesn’t even know that the leaders he mentions from Nepal fought against dynastic politics and established a democratic system. He imagines he can gain power by burning everything down but in reality, this description suits him more than anyone else,” she said.
Kangana Ranaut said, “He wakes up in the morning and writes whatever comes to his mind, without even realising the damage his words can cause. This is not leadership but reckless behaviour.”
The Mandi MP accused Rahul Gandhi of issuing hollow threats and indulging in media theatrics. “If there is truly something wrong, why not take the proper legal route? Instead, he wastes time in drama. This is like not being able to eat a cake yourself, so spitting into someone else’s plate instead,” she mocked.
Kangana Ranaut’s remarks came as she toured flood-ravaged villages in Manali, where families have been left homeless after heavy rains and landslides. While some locals welcomed her visit, others staged protests, accusing her of arriving late and offering more politics than relief.
