MANDI: Mandi Deputy Commissioner Apurva Devgan conducted a surprise inspection at the Government Primary School in Dharampur during his local visit on Thursday (April 10, 2025).
The unexpected presence of the district’s top officer in the school premises took both students and staff by surprise. The Deputy Commissioner tried to understand the ground realities and whether the benefits of government schemes were reaching the grassroots.
Devgan reviewed classroom activities, the quality of the mid-day meal and the availability of basic facilities. He interacted with students, who were both excited and inspired by his visit.
Encouraging them to work hard, stay focused and aim high, he also stressed the importance of character-building, patriotism and community service.

“Education must go hand-in-hand with discipline, values and active participation in sports and extra-curriculars,” he told the students, while also advising teachers to foster a nurturing and progressive learning environment.
He took time to inspect the hygiene and quality standards of the mid-day meal being served, speaking directly to staff and gathering feedback from students.
School authorities and teaching staff expressed appreciation for the DC’s proactive approach and his interest in the well-being of both students and educators.
