Renowned Himachali singer Nitish Rajput was honoured by Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla during the Red Cross Day celebrations held in Hamirpur on May 8. The event witnessed several dignitaries and volunteers coming together to mark the occasion and celebrate humanitarian efforts.
Nitish Rajput, a native of Chamba district, received the special recognition for his generous donation of ₹50,000 to the Red Cross Society during last year’s International Holi Festival.
The amount, which he contributed from his performance fee as the main artist at the festival, was directed to support the underprivileged.Moved by his philanthropic gesture, the Hamirpur district administration decided to felicitate him at the Red Cross Day function.
This is not the first time Nitish has extended a helping hand; he has previously supported the Red Cross Society in Kangra district on multiple occasions.Nitish Rajput rose to fame after winning the Voice of Himachal and also earned acclaim in Voice of Punjab.
His powerful voice and soulful performances have graced major stages across the state and country, earning him a special place in the hearts of music lovers.The Governor praised Nitish’s compassion and social responsibility, calling him an inspiration for the youth.
