SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu paid floral tribute to India’s first woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, on her birth anniversary at the historic Ridge on Wednesday (November 19, 2025).
Recalling her monumental contributions to nation-building, the Chief Minister said that Indira Gandhi’s visionary decisions laid a firm foundation for the country’s development. Her leadership in poverty alleviation, economic reforms, bank nationalisation, enhancing agricultural productivity, generating employment and advancing social empowerment remained unmatched, he added.
He further said that Indira Gandhi made the supreme sacrifice to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation.
