Gaggal Police Arrest Two with 5.97 Grams of Chitta

In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, Gaggal Police arrested two youths with 5.97 grams of chitta (heroin) during a naka checking operation.

Station House Officer Udham Singh Rajput informed that on June 25, 2026, the police team was conducting vehicle checks near Shani Dev Temple, Kuthman. A Punjab‑registered motorcycle (PB06‑BJ6542) was signaled to stop. On seeing the police, the rider attempted to turn back, but the team swiftly intercepted the bike.

Upon search, 5.97 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the two riders, identified as Harpal Singh, son of Atma Singh, and Jaspal Singh, both residents of Village Chaura Wajwa, Tehsil Dera Baba Nanak, District Gurdaspur, Punjab.

A case has been registered against the accused under FIR No. 63/26 dated 25/06/26, Sections 21, 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act at Gaggal Police Station. Investigation is underway. SHO Rajput reiterated that the police campaign against narcotics will continue with full force.
