The first Gram Sabha of Gram Panchayat Bagdu was successfully conducted under the chairmanship of Panchayat Pradhan Meena Kumari. On this occasion, Deputy Pradhan Anil Kumar, all ward members, panchayat representatives, and a large number of villagers were present.

At the outset, Pradhan Meena Kumari expressed gratitude to the people and assured that she would fulfill the responsibility entrusted to her with honesty, transparency, and dedication.

Major Decisions Taken in the Gram Sabha:

  1. Kinara Blessing Amount: Considering the heavy financial demands made by visiting kinnars (transgender groups) during celebrations, a voluntary blessing amount of ₹2100 was fixed to reduce the burden on families.
  2. Security Measures: Registration of migrant vendors and outsiders at the local police station was made mandatory. House owners renting to outsiders will be responsible for police verification.
  3. Anti-Drug Campaign: Individuals involved in drug trafficking, liquor smuggling, or criminal activities will not be given priority in government schemes at the panchayat level. Youth were urged to contribute towards building a drug-free society.
  4. Transparent Selection: Benefits of IRDP and other government schemes will be provided strictly to eligible beneficiaries as per rules.

Villagers raised issues related to roads, drinking water, sanitation, and other local problems. The panchayat assured phased solutions according to the available budget.

Pradhan Meena Kumari also highlighted that the panchayat currently operates from a rented building, though land has already been allotted for a permanent Panchayat Bhawan. She appealed to the state government to provide funds for its construction.

Concluding the meeting, she affirmed that Gram Panchayat Bagdu will work with a spirit of development, transparency, and public service.
