Dharamshala: The auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri kicked off on Tuesday with devotees thronging the renowned Shri Chamunda Nandikeshwar Temple, in Dharamshala. The temple gates opened at four in the morning, welcoming devotees from various states who eagerly awaited to seek blessings from Goddess Chamunda.
The festivities will continue until April 17, featuring elaborate rituals and ceremonies conducted by 31 scholars and 15 assistant scholars. Devotees participate in a range of religious activities including recitations, pujas, and hymns dedicated to different deities throughout the nine-day celebration.
Priest Om Prakash Sharma highlighted the significance of the first day’s puja dedicated to Goddess Shailputri, emphasizing devotees’ belief in the fulfillment of their desires through Chamunda Mata’s blessings.
Commenting on the event, devotees expressed their reverence for Chamunda Mata and the tranquility experienced in her divine presence. Sanjay from Haryana shared the sentiment of many devotees, expressing gratitude for the spiritual solace found in Chamunda temple year after year.
