Shri Paresh Ranpara has taken charge as Director (Personnel) of NHPC Limited, a prestigious Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
Before joining NHPC, Shri Ranpara served as Director (Human Resources) at Grid-India, where he provided strategic leadership in HR management, talent development, organizational capacity building, and workforce planning.
With over 31 years of rich experience in both public and private sector organizations in the power industry, Shri Ranpara is recognized as a seasoned HR professional. He holds a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) from Sardar Patel University. He is also a certified assessor from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
At Grid-India, he emphasized learning and development, strengthened capacity-building infrastructure, and successfully implemented succession planning initiatives based on competency frameworks. He also explored international consulting opportunities in HR and organizational development.
Earlier, as Head of HR at Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), Shri Ranpara played a pivotal role in the restructuring of the erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB), leading change management and communication processes. He contributed significantly to the design and implementation of performance management systems across GUVNL companies and spearheaded major HR initiatives in workforce rationalization, manpower planning, and leadership succession at Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL).
Throughout his career, he has promoted a culture of innovation and continuous learning, equipping the workforce with emerging skills to meet the evolving demands of the power sector, especially in the integration of renewable energy.
As Director (Personnel) at NHPC, Shri Ranpara will provide strategic direction to the company’s HR functions, including manpower planning, talent management, organizational development, industrial relations, employee engagement, and learning & development. His extensive experience and leadership are expected to further strengthen NHPC’s human resource capabilities and contribute to the company’s sustained growth and organizational excellence.
