Dharamshala: Former MLA Vishal Nehria has accused the Himachal Pradesh government of Chief Minister’s aerial fire (CM’s announcements during public rallies) rendering Congress guarantees obsolete in the state’s annual budget for 2024-25.
He pointed out the absence of any mention of Congress government’s election promises in the second budget, with no provision for the pledged Rs 1500 for women or concerns for unemployment.
Neharia criticized the state government for attempting to take credit for Central government schemes by renaming them, citing the example of the Startup scheme, originally initiated by the Modi government, being misleadingly termed as Rajiv Gandhi Startup, confusing the public.
He lamented the lack of concrete measures for employment in the budget, noting the government’s failure to recruit in the past year. While the government boasts about tourism in the budget, Neharia highlighted the contradiction of illegal collections at tourist spots and the closure of facilities for pilgrims.
Nehria called for the Congress government to stop deceiving the public and work for their welfare instead. He expressed confidence in BJP’s victory on all four seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, as the public has seen through Congress’ flawed policies.
