In the tribal region of Pangi, Chamba district, the Panchayati Raj Elections–2026 will see voting at the district’s highest polling station, located in Chask Bhatori at an altitude of nearly 4,500 meters above sea level.
This polling station, part of Gram Panchayat Sechu, will serve 98 registered voters from 19 families, including 57 men and 41 women.
Chask Bhatori lies about 45 kilometers from the valley headquarters at Killar. While buses connect Killar to Chask, the final stretch to Bhatori requires a six‑kilometer trek on foot.
Despite the challenges of extreme altitude and unpredictable snowfall, election staff and local residents are fully prepared to ensure smooth conduct of the democratic process.
