The social organization Kala evam Lekhak Manch hosted a tribute dinner at Manimahesh Hotel in memory of renowned Punjabi writer late Nanak Singh.
The event was graced by Nanak Singh’s grandson, former diplomat Navdeep Suri, who attended as chief guest along with his wife. They were warmly welcomed by the organization’s chief patron Dr. Captain G.S. Dhillon and Chairman Ashok Mahajan.
The evening featured soulful ghazal performances that captivated the audience. General Secretary Baldev Mohan Khosla highlighted Nanak Singh’s legacy as a powerful writer who penned extensively on patriotism and the struggles of common people. He noted that Nanak Singh had a deep affection for Dalhousie and frequently visited the town.
Navdeep Suri shared personal anecdotes about his grandfather and read excerpts from his celebrated works, including Khooni Panja, Chitta Lahu, Pavitra Paapi, and Ik Mian Do Talwar. He was honored with a traditional shawl and cap by Dr. Dhillon and Ashok Mahajan, while his wife was similarly felicitated by Dalhousie Municipal Council President Vandana Chaddha.
The gathering was attended by SDM Dalhousie Anil Bhardwaj, SE PWD Jeet Thakur, MC President Vandana Chaddha, former MC President Manoj Chaddha, retired Joint Secretary to the Government of India Kiran Chaddha, Hilltop School’s Sudhir and Poonam Dhawan, along with Nitin Mahajan, Seema Chandel Mahajan, Rajendra Rai, Paramjit Singh, Karan Monga, Vinod Mahajan, and Colonel Kapila.
