A special dialogue program was organized at Baba Kyalu Temple, Surdwan by the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Block Indora, to interact with BPL families from nine identified panchayats. MLA Malendra Rajan engaged directly with families from Badukhar, Deyothi, Rajgir, Bhograwan, Palakhi, Surdwan, Malhadi, Deeni, and Gadarana panchayats, listening to their concerns and assuring solutions.
Addressing the gathering, Rajan emphasized that the selection of BPL families will be free from political influence. “Only genuinely eligible families will be included in the BPL list. All eight phases of the BPL survey have been completed, with the aim of ensuring that government schemes reach the truly needy,” he said.
He further highlighted key development priorities, including the Badukhar–Indora road project, the ongoing construction of a ₹12‑crore 33 KV sub‑station, and the installation of a tube well in Surdwan to improve drinking water facilities. Rajan also announced outlets in Damtal and Indora to market products made by local women, helping them boost income and achieve self‑reliance.
During the program, SP Nurpur Ilma Afroz addressed youth and residents, informing them about recruitment for nearly 700 constable posts in the police department. She urged young people to stay away from drugs and support the police in the anti‑chitta campaign, encouraging mothers and sisters to report any drug‑related activities to authorities for effective action.
Officials from various departments also shared information about welfare schemes, while BPL families presented their issues. Rajan directed officers to ensure timely resolution of problems faced by eligible families.
The event was attended by SP Ilma Afroz, SDM Dr. Surinder Thakur, BDO Sudarshan Singh, DFO Sandeep Kohli, Range Officer Abdul Hamid, Executive Engineer Rajneesh Sharma (Electricity Dept.), Assistant Engineer Rajendra (Jal Shakti), Executive Engineer Vinay Mehra (PWD), SMS Bodh Raj (Agriculture), Vishal Thakur, representatives of various panchayats, and other dignitaries.
