Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has left for Delhi, triggering a flurry of speculation about an imminent cabinet expansion. The Chief Minister is set to engage in discussions with the central leadership on the cabinet’s augmentation. Additionally, he is expected to brief national leaders on the government’s one-year achievements.

CM Sukhu met with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan before departing for Delhi on Wednesday evening. In the national capital, Sukhu is scheduled to discuss cabinet expansion with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and party in-charge Rajeev Shukla. With three vacant cabinet positions in Himachal, a reshuffle could mark the government’s one-year milestone.

The names of potential cabinet ministers, including Rajesh Dharmani from Bilaspur, are already in consideration. Discussions may also involve representation from the largest district, Kangra. The Chief Minister is set to consult with the party high command before finalizing the cabinet expansion.

Simultaneously, preparations are underway for a one-year celebration of the government’s work in Dharamshala, Kangra. CM Sukhu, along with national leaders Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Rajeev Shukla, is expected to participate in various events during his visit to Solan on Friday.

The sudden Delhi visit and discussions on cabinet expansion have heightened political activity in Himachal Pradesh, setting the stage for potential changes in the state’s leadership.
