BJP-backed candidates swept the Block Development Committee (BDC) elections in Mandi Sadar Block on Monday, securing both the Chairman and Vice-Chairperson posts unopposed in a unanimous election.
Narayan Singh Guleria was elected Chairman of the Block Development Committee, while Chandramani was unanimously chosen as the Vice-Chairperson.
The unanimous outcome underscored the BJP’s strong organisational presence at the grassroots level in the block. Soon after the declaration of results, party workers and supporters celebrated the victory by distributing sweets and congratulating the newly elected representatives.
Expressing gratitude to all BDC members for their unanimous support, Guleria and Chandramani pledged to work collectively for the overall development of the Sadar Block. They said their focus would be on addressing issues faced by panchayats, expediting developmental projects, and ensuring effective implementation of public welfare schemes.
The newly elected office-bearers also stressed the need for coordinated efforts among all elected representatives to achieve inclusive and balanced development across the block.
BJP leaders termed the unanimous victory a reflection of the party’s strong grassroots network and the confidence reposed in it by local representatives. Political observers believe the outcome could have a bearing on the political dynamics of the district ahead of future local body elections.
