A new era of leadership formally began today as Mrs. Vandana Chadda assumed office as President of the Dalhousie Municipal Council and Mrs. Reena Singh Jaryal took charge as Vice President. The dignified oath‑taking ceremony was conducted by Returning Officer and SDM (Civil) Dalhousie, Mr. Anil Bhardwaj, who administered the official oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected representatives.
The occasion was further elevated by the presence of senior Congress leader, former Education Minister, and former Dalhousie MLA Mrs. Asha Kumari, whose participation added prestige to the event.
The swearing‑in marks a progressive beginning for Dalhousie, symbolizing renewed commitment to holistic development, strengthened sanitation systems, beautification of the town, and welfare of its citizens. Addressing the gathering, President Vandana Chadda and Vice President Reena Singh Jaryal jointly pledged to work with honesty, dedication, and impartiality for the comprehensive development of all wards. They emphasized their vision to enhance Dalhousie’s global reputation as a premier international tourist destination.
Both leaders expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Dalhousie and to Mrs. Asha Kumari for her guidance and unwavering support, which enabled them to shoulder this important responsibility of municipal service.
Congratulating the new leadership, Mrs. Asha Kumari voiced confidence that Dalhousie will achieve new milestones of growth under their stewardship. The ceremony concluded with newly elected councillors, intellectuals, and prominent citizens extending floral greetings and pledging collective commitment to build a clean, beautiful, well‑organized, and progressive Dalhousie.
