The annual elections of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Palampur branch for the year 2026–27 were successfully conducted in the presence of Provincial Observer and State President Dr. Virendra Kaul.
In the elections, senior member and President of the Joint Trade Association Palampur, Sanjeev Soni, was unanimously chosen as the Branch President. Alongside him, Anup Kumar Sharma was elected as Branch Secretary, while Sheela Gupta was appointed as Branch Treasurer.
During the proceedings, members observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to the late Anilendra Katoch, a senior member of the Palampur branch, who passed away recently.
Speaking after his appointment, newly elected President Sanjeev Soni expressed gratitude to all members and pledged to accelerate the activities of Bharat Vikas Parishad with collective support. He added that the branch executive committee will be formed soon after consultations with members.
It is noteworthy that Bharat Vikas Parishad operates through more than 1,600 branches across India, running numerous projects focused on service and cultural values. The Palampur branch, under Himachal Pradesh West Province, has been actively engaged in nation-building initiatives for over 25 years.
The election meeting was attended by several dignitaries and members including former provincial president Jitendra Banta, Manoj Ratna, provincial contact head Sudarshan Vasudeva, Dr. Rajesh Mahajan, Ravindra Sharma, Gyan Chand Sharma, Jaisia Ram Bhandral, E. Amar Sandal, Gagan Vasudeva, Randeep Sood, Sushma Ratna, among others.
