Initially, the application deadline for the police constable posts in Himachal Pradesh was set for October 31, but it was later extended to November 12 due to high demand.
Captain Rameshwar Singh Thakur, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, stated, “The counting of online applications has been completed by the IP section. A total of 1.29 lakh applications were received, with around 90,000 applications in the male category and approximately 39,000 applications in the female category.”
The Himachal Pradesh Police Constable recruitment drive aims to fill 1,088 constable posts, with 380 positions reserved for women. Out of the total applicants, 39,000 female candidates are competing for the 380 reserved posts, while 90,000 male candidates are vying for the remaining 708 positions. This is a regular recruitment for Himachal Pradesh Police constables, offering a Level-3 pay scale of Rs 20,200 to Rs 64,000 per month.
The 2024 Himachal police recruitment introduces a specialised commando force to fight drug abuse. Special incentives are offered for candidates with qualifications like NCC training (with four extra marks) and specific height criteria. Additionally, a 100-metre sprint has been added to the physical test requirements for HP Police Constable posts and candidates must now undergo a dope test to confirm they are drug-free.
The Himachal Pradesh Police Constable recruitment exam will be conducted by the Public Service Commission, with physical tests managed by the police department. To ensure the integrity of this anti-drug force, a character certificate verification will also be conducted for all successful applicants.
