Kangra district has reported significant achievements under the ongoing 100-Day TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2.0, with intensive outreach and screening activities across high-risk villages and urban wards.

Reviewing the first 50 days of the campaign, CMO Kangra Dr. Vivek Karol informed that 126 Ayushman Arogya Shivirs have been organised, covering 126 vulnerable villages/wards out of the targeted 956. These shivirs are held daily, including holidays, and provide non-communicable disease screening alongside chest X-rays.

As part of active TB case finding, 7,475 chest X-rays were conducted during the shivirs, while another 10,587 X-rays were performed at fixed health facilities. The campaign aims to reach a vulnerable population of 5.88 lakh people across the district.

Encouragingly, women accounted for nearly 60% of beneficiaries screened, while men made up 40%. Among health blocks, Dadasiba recorded the highest number of shivirs, followed by Indora and Fatehpur. The average footfall stood at 62 beneficiaries per shivir, reflecting growing awareness and utilisation of services.

District Health Officer & TB Officer Dr. R.K. Sood highlighted that the campaign focuses on early detection of TB among asymptomatic and vulnerable populations, using chest X-rays followed by upfront NAAT testing.

The district administration and health department lauded the dedicated efforts of frontline workers, TB Health Visitors, radiographers, and community volunteers, who are ensuring the campaign’s success even in remote and difficult terrains.

Officials reiterated that sustained community participation, Jan Bhagidari, and early screening remain crucial to achieving the vision of a TB-Mukt Bharat.
