‘Thanks to TNR’, says Harmony of the Pines as one of band’s reels crosses 19 million views

Dharamshala: Himachal Pradesh’s pride, Harmony of the Pines, the celebrated band of the Himachal Pradesh Police, expressed heartfelt gratitude to The Newz Radar (TNR) for organising the Dharamshala Spring Carnival-2025.
The band revealed that during the last season of the carnival, a reel shot at the same venue crossed an astounding 19 million views. During the first edition of the Dharamshala Spring Carnival in 2024, Harmony of the Pines had performed on February 12.
“We have featured a new song, ‘Banka Himachal’, and this time, we hope our video will cross 190 million views with the support of all of you,” said Inspector Vijay Kumar, a band member, addressing the thousands in attendance and the online viewers.
Spring Carnival: A grand cultural celebration
The second season of the Spring Carnival, organised by The Newz Radar, showcased an electrifying cultural evening. The event was graced by Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa as the chief guest, who lauded TNR’s efforts in celebrating Himachal’s rich artistic heritage.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa praised TNR’s initiative, calling it a remarkable step by a media house that goes beyond news reporting.
“This event showcases a progressive vision, proving that media plays a crucial role in promoting culture, talent, and self-employment opportunities,” he stated.
He further emphasised that platforms like the Dharamshala Spring Carnival not only provide entertainment but also preserve cultural traditions while offering exposure to local artistes.
Performance to remember
The highlight of the evening on February 11, 2025, was the performance by the Harmony of the Pines, a 15-member orchestra known for blending musical excellence with the discipline of the police force. Their mesmerising renditions of patriotic and Bollywood classics enthralled the audience, creating an unforgettable experience.
Dressed in their signature khaki uniforms, the band members exuded charisma, fusing music and duty seamlessly. Even DC Bairwa, along with the audience, was left spellbound by their captivating stage presence.
This was the band’s second performance at the Spring Carnival. Their viral reel from Season 1, which amassed 19 million views, cemented their growing nationwide popularity.
Journey of Harmony of the Pines
Founded in 1996 with just seven members, Harmony of the Pines initially performed at police events to help officers manage stress. Over the years, they evolved into a nationally recognised orchestra, earning immense admiration for their distinctive musical identity.
Their breakthrough moment came when they reached the grand finale of Colors TV’s reality show ‘Hunarbaaz’, showcasing their extraordinary talent.
In 2016, the Himachal Pradesh government officially recognised them as the Harmony of the Pines Himachal Pradesh Police Orchestra, making them India’s first police band to perform on both national and international platforms.
Music with a purpose
Beyond their musical prowess, Harmony of the Pines leverages their performances to spread social awareness on issues such as road safety, drug abuse prevention, and crimes against women. Their music serves as a powerful tool for change.
Expressing their gratitude to The Newz Radar, the band members conveyed their enthusiasm for the Spring Carnival, stating their eagerness to return for future editions.
