In Himachal Pradesh, intense sunshine on Monday led to a notable rise in the maximum temperature in Manali, climbing by six degrees to reach 21.7 degrees. Conversely, Una experienced a slight drop of 0.8 degrees, while Nahan witnessed a decrease of 1.1 degrees. Other areas also saw variations of around one degree.
According to the latest forecast from the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance is expected to intensify starting from April 10. Another fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India, including Himachal, from April 13. Consequently, a yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorm and lightning from the April 11 to 14. Heavy rainfall is anticipated on April 13 and 14, prompting the issuance of a yellow alert. The Meteorological Department has also said that Himachal received 24 per cent surplus rainfall compared to normal levels for the month of March.
A decrease of one to four degrees has been observed in minimum temperatures across the state. The most significant drop in maximum temperature was recorded at 3.8 degrees Celsius in Narkanda and 3.7 degrees Celsius in Bharmour. On the contrary, Paonta Sahib experienced an increase of 3 degrees Celsius, with the minimum temperature on the warmest night in the state being recorded at 19 degrees Celsius.
