Dharanshala: The Himalayan Gaddi Union rallied for the inclusion of the term ‘Gaddi’ in official records, addressing the historical marginalization of its six sub-castes.
The community members had gathered in large numbers at Joravar Maidan in Dharamshala on Sunday.
Highlighting their long-standing demand, they declared participation in upcoming assembly elections amidst traditional attire and cultural performances.
Leading the charge, Mohindra Singh, state president, urged political parties to nominate candidates from the marginalized communities, highlighting their substantial presence in key constituencies.
The event witnessed fervent calls for political representation and cultural recognition, marking a pivotal moment in the Gaddi community’s quest for socio-political empowerment.
