In a significant move in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking, a police team from Kangra Police Station apprehended two individuals in Tarsuh village, Kangra, for the possession of 9.5 grams of heroin.
Identified as Ritik, 22, from Sidhbari, near Dharamsala, and Rahul, 23, hailing from Ward No. 5 of Tarsuh village, the duo were caught in a sting operation orchestrated by law enforcement.
Rahul, reportedly a heroin addict, had attracted attention in the past for his suspicious activities, as evidenced by a viral video of him being assaulted by locals about two months prior.
Ritik, on the other hand, had traveled to Tarsuh on his motorcycle to sell heroin to Rahul, unaware of the impending police intervention.
Both suspects are now facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and are scheduled to appear before a magistrate for further proceedings.
