Mandi: Vallabh Government College, Mandi, in collaboration with the Talent Sensation Committee of its Music Department and the Commerce Department of Shimla, has organised two-day international conference on “Spirituality and the Global Understanding of Science in the Contemporary World.”
The event which began on February 23, witnessed participation of over 200 distinguished scholars, researchers, professors, and social scientists from across the globe. It will conclude on February 24 afternoon.
Professor Anil Dutt Mishra, the treasurer of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Delhi, in his inaugural address eloquently underscored the profound intersection of science and spirituality in catalyzing positive global transformations, drawing inspiration from the timeless wisdom of luminaries such as Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, and Maharishi Paramahansa Yogananda.
Principal Professor Surina Sharma emphasized the pivotal role of the conference in fostering a deeper comprehension of spirituality and science while reaffirming the institution’s unwavering commitment to preserving cultural and educational ethos.
Engaging panel discussions and insightful paper presentations exploring diverse facets of spirituality, culture, and science enriched the academic discourse.
Dr Ravindra Kumar, the convener of the conference, delivered a comprehensive overview of the proceedings, complemented by valuable insights from distinguished guests like Professor Keshav Sharma, who elucidated on the profound spiritual heritage of Indian civilization.
The conference also showcased vibrant cultural programs organized by the college’s Music Department, infusing artistic expression into the scholarly deliberations.
