MANDI: One person was killed while six others were injured in two accidents in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi on Saturday (February 3, 2024).
The first accident involved a collision between a Creta car and a Tata Sumo on the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane national highway, allegedly caused by the negligence of the Sumo driver as he was driving on the wrong side.
Geeta Prasad, a 32-year-old occupant of the Creta, lost her life while her brother Honey suffered serious injuries and was referred to the PGIMER, Chandigarh. The Creta driver, Ambika Prasad, also sustained injuries. Investigations are ongoing into this devastating incident.
The second accident occurred on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway when a gas cylinder-laden truck overturned, causing a temporary traffic jam. Two individuals, including the truck driver, sustained injuries. The Balh police promptly arrived at the scene, removed the truck and initiated an investigation. Additional Police Superintendent Sagar Chander confirmed the registration of the case.
