In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, the CIA team of Police District Nurpur carried out a decisive operation near Nagni Mata Temple, Kandwal, detaining two individuals and recovering 32.57 grams of heroin (chitta) from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as:
- Vikas (24 years), resident of Kangra district
- Rakesh Thakur (36 years), resident of Mandi and Kangra districts
A case has been registered against both under FIR No. 260/2026, Sections 21 & 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Nurpur. Legal proceedings are underway as per due process.
Police officials reaffirmed their commitment to curb the illegal drug trade and protect youth from its harmful effects. Strict action will continue against those involved in narcotics trafficking.
