Bahra University, Waknaghat, came alive with festive spirit as an inter-departmental “Makhan Chor – Dahi Handi” competition was organized on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Teams from various departments enthusiastically participated, showcasing teamwork, strength, and coordination in the traditional contest of breaking the Dahi Handi.
The competition saw spirited participation from Core Engineering, Hotel Management, Management, Alpha School, School of Law, and Forensic Sciences. With remarkable energy and synchronization, the Core Engineering team emerged victorious, breaking the handi in just 56 seconds. The moment was met with thunderous applause and cheers across the campus.
The event was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. R.P. Nanta, Registrar Vineet Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sushil, along with university deans, heads of departments, faculty, staff, and students.
On this auspicious occasion, students recalled the divine leelas of Lord Krishna and reflected on the values of cooperation, discipline, and collective spirit. The festival not only connected students with India’s rich cultural traditions but also reinforced the importance of teamwork and unity.
Chairman Sardar Gurvinder Singh Bahra and Vice Chairman Gurinder Singh Bahra extended warm Janmashtami greetings to the university family. They praised the enthusiastic participation of students, noting that such events nurture leadership, collaboration, and a sense of community among the youth.
