According to information, the fire engulfed set number 5 at the colony. The fire brigade department was immediately alerted, following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
Residents in the colony were alarmed when they noticed smoke billowing from the windows of the set number 5 early in the morning. The fire brigade team managed to bring the fire under control, preventing its spread to neighbouring quarters.
The occupant of the quarter, identified as a woman employed with BSNL, had not been residing there for the past few days. The incident resulted in the destruction of belongings within the quarter.
