Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Vikas Sharma has cautioned devotees and residents against misleading reports circulating on certain social media platforms regarding cloudbursts in Bharmour and flooding along the Shri Manimahesh Yatra route.

He clarified that such news is false and unverified, and warned that it could unnecessarily create panic and confusion among pilgrims and the general public. The ADM stressed that the administration has not confirmed any such incidents and urged people not to believe or forward unverified messages.

The ADM stated that the administration is taking serious note of these misleading reports. Action is being initiated through the Cyber Cell against individuals and platforms spreading false information. He further warned that in future, if any social media page or platform publishes or circulates unverified or fake news, strict legal action will be taken under the IT Act and other relevant laws.

Vikas Sharma appealed to devotees to rely only on official guidelines and verified updates issued by the administration. In case of any doubt regarding the authenticity of information, citizens are advised to contact local administrative officers for confirmation.

The administration’s objective, he emphasized, is to provide pilgrims with accurate, certified, and timely information so that the Shri Manimahesh Yatra can be conducted in a peaceful and safe environment.

This news highlights the administration’s proactive stance against misinformation, ensuring that faith and safety remain protected during the sacred pilgrimage.
