Social Security and Welfare a Top Priority: Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania reaffirmed that the state government under Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is fully committed to social welfare, making Himachal Pradesh the first state in the country to accord special priority to social security and welfare.

Speaking at the Tribal Bhawan, Sihunta, Pathania interacted with nearly 2,030 beneficiaries from 26 gram panchayats under the BPL survey phases one to eight. He sought feedback on the implementation of welfare schemes and emphasized ensuring timely benefits for all eligible families.

Highlighting key initiatives, Pathania termed the Sukh-Aashray scheme for destitute children and revised Disaster Relief Manual as historic steps rooted in humanitarian concerns. He stressed that the BPL selection process has been kept fully transparent to guarantee that genuine families receive support.

During the dialogue, Pathania directed welfare officers to resolve e-KYC issues in pension cases at the panchayat level and assured that families left out of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana would be covered under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.

The event was attended by SDM Manish Soni, BDO Anil Gurada, and officials from various departments, along with local representatives.
