Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal on Wednesday inspected facilities along the pilgrimage route from Hadsar village to Dal Lake, Manimahesh, as part of preparations for the upcoming Shri Manimahesh Yatra 2026. Accompanied by officials from various departments, he reviewed arrangements and issued necessary directions to ensure smooth conduct of the sacred journey.

During the inspection, the DC visited shops along the route and urged traders to cooperate with the administration in protecting the environment and preserving the natural heritage of the Manimahesh valley. He reiterated that the sale of small-capacity water bottles and small packets of snacks is strictly prohibited along the yatra path, citing ecological sensitivity. He also directed shopkeepers not to sell cigarettes, bidis, or other tobacco products.

Repswal instructed the Public Works Department to repair the pedestrian bridge and road near Dhanchho in Dunali, as well as the glacier point above Sundarsi. He emphasized timely completion of road construction works under allotted tenders.

The DC also reviewed arrangements related to security, drinking water, resting places, toilets, and waste management, stressing the need to provide pilgrims with clean, safe, and pollution-free facilities.

He appealed to all devotees to complete mandatory registration before embarking on the yatra and to check weather conditions prior to departure. “This year, registration has been made compulsory for all pilgrims. No one should undertake the yatra without registration,” he said.

Additional District Magistrate Vikas Sharma, SDM Ajay Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer Rajnish Mahajan, and other officials were present during the inspection.
