HRTC mandal Dharamshala records 5.50% revenue growth in 2023

The Newz Radar

The HRTC Mandal Dharamshala witnessed a notable 5.50% increase in revenue in the past year. In comparison to 2022, the Mandal, encompassing 7 depots, generated a revenue of ₹10,86,03,975 in 2023. The operation of buses under the Mandal also saw an increase, covering over 11 million kilometers compared to the previous year’s 7 million kilometers.

Notably, the average income per kilometer also experienced a rise, reaching ₹39.99 in 2023 compared to ₹38.70 in 2022. The Mandal’s commitment to enhancing services is further reflected in the improved kilometer coverage by bus operations, showing a 2.10% increase.

In response to potential challenges during the winter season, the management issued directives to thoroughly inspect and send buses on routes only after confirming the integrity of Volvo and AC bus windows. Special attention is given to prevent breakage, with strict consequences for any reported incidents.

Concerns about reduced visibility due to winter fog prompted the managerial advice for drivers to avoid risks, heed passengers’ concerns, and halt buses at safe locations when necessary. Additionally, drivers are undergoing refresher courses to ensure safety and competence. The Mandal, managing 7 depots, has not only surpassed the 2022 revenue by more than 10 crores in 2023 but has also achieved a significant increase in both kilometer coverage and income per kilometer. Instructions have been issued to HRTC drivers and conductors to navigate through the cold weather responsibly, with particular emphasis on checking AC and Volvo buses for window breakage before sending them on routes. Pankaj Chadda, Regional Manager of HRTC Mandal Dharamshala, provided this information.
