Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal Pradesh, Nandita Gupta, visited the Sahu Sub‑Tehsil under Chamba Assembly constituency today. During her tour, she inspected Polling Stations Padhar‑1 and Padhar‑2, reviewing the facilities being provided to voters.
She also assessed the progress of voter list mapping under the 2002 Special Intensive Revision (SIR) based on the electoral roll of January 1, 2025. Appreciating the 99% completion at Padhar‑1 and 87% at Padhar‑2, she directed officials to ensure the remaining work is completed promptly.
Gupta instructed the Assistant Electoral Officer and SDM to hold regular meetings with Booth Level Officers and maintain continuous dialogue with citizens, especially in remote areas and among tribal and Gujjar communities, to guarantee inclusive voter coverage. She emphasized that the SIR process must be carried out strictly as per guidelines.
She further directed that information about the documents prescribed by the Election Commission of India for voter identification and list updation be widely disseminated to the public.
The inspection was attended by SDM Chirag Sharma, Tehsildar (Election) Anup Dogra, Naib Tehsildar (Election) Sanjay Kumar, along with other departmental officers and staff.
