Nurpur: A monthly crime review meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of the Superintendent of Police, Nurpur. The meeting was attended by the Additional Superintendent of Police, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers, Station House Officers, In-Charges of Police Posts, Chief Clerk, Security In-Charge, and Cyber Cell In-Charge.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on strengthening law and order, expediting pending cases, and improving the quality of investigations. Special strategies were discussed to curb illegal mining, conduct financial investigations in NDPS cases, and prepare proposals under the PIT ND&PS Act.
Cybercrime prevention and effective investigation were given top priority. The Superintendent directed officers to ensure swift action against online financial fraud, cyber scams, and crimes linked to social media. Awareness campaigns on cyber safety and promotion of the national cyber helpline number 1930 were also stressed.
The meeting highlighted the need for modernization of policing systems, with instructions to maximize the use of digital platforms and police portals. Security arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra were reviewed to ensure peaceful and safe conduct. Additionally, with the monsoon season approaching, police forces were instructed to remain on alert and prepared for any potential disaster or emergency.
The Superintendent urged officers to adopt a professional work approach, strengthen traffic management, enhance community participation in drug eradication efforts, and raise public awareness about cybercrime.
Following the crime review, a Police Welfare Meeting was also held. The Superintendent listened to the concerns of police personnel and issued directions to improve their welfare, health, and workplace conditions.
