In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, the CIA wing of Nurpur Police apprehended a youth with 16.02 grams of heroin in the Chhatroli area.
On August 11, 2026, while patrolling to curb illegal narcotics trade, the police received a tip-off that Ajay Kumar, son of Raj Kumar, resident of Harial, District Pathankot (Punjab), was present near St. Xavier Cambridge School, Chhatroli Khad, with heroin intended for sale in Chhatroli and Jasur.
Acting swiftly, the police team, accompanied by independent witnesses, intercepted the suspect on his motorcycle (PB08CC-4706 Splendor Plus). A transparent polythene packet concealed inside the dashboard was recovered, which tested positive for heroin. The seized substance weighed 16.02 grams. Both the narcotics and the motorcycle were taken into police custody.
A case has been registered at Police Station Nurpur under FIR No. 203/2026 dated 11.08.2026, under Sections 21 and 25 of the NDPS Act, 1985. The accused, identified as Ajay Kumar (28), has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
