Land measurement work has begun in Gaggal for the Kangra Airport expansion project, focusing on the area within a 12-meter radius of the proposed runway. Project Coordinator Ranjit Thakur informed that the demarcation and measurement process is currently underway to identify land falling under the acquisition zone.

Thakur stated that revenue department teams are simultaneously verifying missing khasra numbers, measuring house boundaries, and counting trees located on the land to be acquired. On-site records are being prepared, noting khasra numbers, actual possession details, house areas, and the number of fruit-bearing and timber trees.

The accelerated survey aims to ensure accurate documentation and smooth progress of the airport expansion project, which is expected to enhance regional connectivity and boost tourism and economic activity in Kangra district.
